My Incredible Journey: A SOVAS Award Nomination for Outstanding Commercial Demo

I am beyond ecstatic to share some truly mind-blowing news: I’ve been nominated by the Society of Voice Arts & Sciences (SOVAS) for the prestigious Outstanding Commercial Demo – Best Voiceover award! This honor comes as a total shock, given that I’m just 1.5 years into my voiceover (VO) journey. To think that my work has been recognized on such an incredible scale is both humbling and exhilarating!

A Milestone Three Months In

My commercial demo is what landed me this nomination, and it carries a story that I hold close to my heart. Created just three months into my full-time career as a voiceover artist, this demo was my first professional endeavor in a world I was only just getting to know. Looking back, I’m amazed at how far I’ve come in such a short time—but even more amazed by what that initial effort meant. With this nomination, it seems that all those late nights, vocal exercises, and countless hours of honing my craft truly paid off.

Teaming Up with the Best: ‘Demos That Rock’

The creation of this demo was an experience I’ll never forget. I had the privilege of working with two industry powerhouses: Chuck Duran and Stacey J. Aswad of Demos That Rock.’ Chuck’s brilliance in understanding and elevating voice talent paired with Stacey’s insightful scripting helped bring out my best work. It was their expertise, attention to detail, and unwavering support that allowed me to deliver a demo worthy of being called ‘Outstanding.’ Also, a huge thank you to Ed Bednarcyzk for coaching me during my prep time to record the demo!

Grateful, Honored, and Driven

Being recognized for this Voice Arts award means more than just a title or recognition—it signifies how far I’ve come and how far I’m willing to go. In a competitive industry like voiceover, every opportunity to be acknowledged is a testament to resilience, passion, and the guidance of mentors. This nomination reaffirms my dedication to delivering authentic, impactful voice work.

As I prepare for the ceremony in Los Angeles on December 8th, where I get to walk that red carpet with my wife, I can’t help but reflect on every moment that has led me here. To everyone who has supported me along this journey—thank you from the bottom of my heart. To Chuck and Stacey, your talent, and your belief in me changed everything. To my wife and kids, you all felt the sting of my decision to pursue this dream, and I owe you more than I can ever repay. To my mom, thanks for being my biggest fan! I’m excited to see where this path leads, and I’m beyond grateful to have a voice that people connect with.

Here’s to growth, determination, and every voiceover artist daring to dream big! 🎙️✨

If you’re on your own VO journey or are curious about what it takes to step into this dynamic field, I’d love to connect and share insights from my whirlwind year and a half. Stay tuned for more updates as I head into this next chapter!
