Hey Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to spend a moment with me on my blog!
People often ask me an intriguing question about voiceover: What’s one of the coolest or most surprising aspects of life in VO that people usually overlook?
Sure, there are the obvious cool things that most can guess. Recording your voice for a living is fantastic! Seeing your work on TV or hearing it on the radio gives a rush. The satisfaction of completing a job and receiving praise from clients is gratifying. And let’s not forget the amazing, supportive VO community. It’s truly one-of-a-kind. These aspects are enjoyable, but what do I find interesting about VO that others may not think about?
Here’s my answer: The constant intake of information! In this game, you’re always learning! Whether it’s voicing an educational script or being the first to know about a new product or service for an ad, you’re on the cutting edge! I might be among the first to learn about a new product release or the release date of a movie. I may have insider information about company mergers for internal corporate narration. I’m often the first to hear about new concepts seeking funding. I absolutely love being up-to-date with the latest developments in the world! However, it requires me to keep things confidential, as NDAs are a crucial part of this job.
So, there you have it. The most interesting thing about VO for me is the incredible amount of knowledge I gain every day. It keeps life exciting. Each day brings new discoveries that I go to sleep knowing but didn’t know when I woke up!
