My wife and I have recently made the decision to move from Cobb County, GA, to Forsyth County, GA, which is known for its excellent school district and promising economic growth. Our new home is currently under construction and will be massive, with over 6,500 square feet of space and a fully finished basement. I’m particularly excited about the dedicated space that I will have for my studio, which will be perfect at 5’W x 9’L.
While the move is a significant undertaking, it will have minimal impact on my VO endeavors. I’m still actively tinkering, learning, and practicing my voice craft. However, I won’t be auditioning or looking for VO gigs until I have a space that I’ve fully treated and equipment that I trust, as well as fully developed skills.
The move will undoubtedly cause some minor delays in outfitting my new studio with acoustic treatment and equipment, but that’s a small price to pay for having the perfect space for my work. I’m not yet ready to take any steps toward auditioning or landing gigs, but I’m confident that I’ll get there in time.
While we’re excited about the opportunities that our move will bring, we’re also feeling sentimental about leaving our old home. We’ve created so many wonderful memories here, and it’s tough to say goodbye. However, we’re looking forward to creating even more memories in our new place and embracing all the new experiences that await us.
Overall, I’m excited about the possibilities that my new dedicated studio space will offer, and I look forward to continuing to grow and develop my voiceover skills in my new home. As for the old home, we’ll miss her, but will cherish the memories (pictured below).
