Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work on a big-budget blockbuster film? To experience everything that ‘set life’ entails? Well, I can tell you from firsthand experience that it’s one of the most incredible experiences you can have as an actor.
Over the past three weeks, I had the opportunity to work on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was an absolute dream come true. Working alongside A-listers such as Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, as well as the visionary director James Gunn, was an unforgettable experience.
From learning the etiquette of certain situations to the processes and protocols behind how filmmaking works, I received an absolute master class in all of it. And to watch the pros go to work each day, to study their habits and take note of the differences in their approach to acting, was a joy to behold.

The icing on the cake was getting to meet and befriend some really great people that I got to work with along the way. I had some of them over to my house to watch Volumes 1 and 2 in my movie theater, and we took that experience back to set, which helped us to up our game for the remainder of the duration of our filming.
Although the pay was okay, it wasn’t great compared to my salary on my current day job. But based on the time I spent filming on this one project, I am now SAG-eligible, which is a step in the right direction for my acting career.
As it’s now over, I’m a bit saddened. That was such a surreal experience, and I had hoped it would never end. But I’ll treasure that experience forever, and who knows where things will go from here. After the rush of getting to experience what I just did, sitting in my home office toiling away on meeting after meeting each day has me thinking a lot about what I’m doing with my life.
In summary, my time on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was an experience of a lifetime, and I’m grateful for every moment of it. Here is a link to a video some castmates and I filmed on the behind-the-scenes experience!
