This was a moment that I have DREAMED about for so long!
The work, the marketing, the coaching/training, and all the effort came together, and enabled me to land a spot as a NATIONAL BRAND VOICE for Academy Sports + Outdoors!
This is a HUGE deal, and yes, pays thousands upon thousands of dollars! All of a sudden, all the doubt, worry, and all the things that can occasionally pop into your mind that make you wonder if you are on the right path, WENT AWAY! It’s a complete and total validation of my abilities and the hard work I’ve put in to hone my craft. I actually landed this through a great platform, CastVoices.com, operated by Liz Atherton, who is a GREAT person to know in this business…and an all-around GREAT PERSON…PERIOD! She applauded my effort in landing that out of 400 total competitors, and has been so supportive of my efforts since we’ve met (virtually).
That was just the first of what I HOPE will be many to come. So now what? One thing that has also happened is that I landed my first agent! I now have representation in my first Top 10 US Market, Chicago, through Big Mouth Talent! They heard my demo via direct marketing, reached while I was on a 20th Anniversary cruise with my wife, and we sealed the deal! They’ve kept a steady flow of opportunities coming my way since! When you begin a relationship like this, you need to announce it…post it on your social media platforms. Celebrate, and others celebrate with you…but not only that…people also take NOTICE! They say to themselves, “Wow…maybe this guy is worth listening to?”. That’s all you need to to. Spark that interest, and let the curiosity pull folks to you. When you have them in your grip…IMPRESS THEM! Show them what you’re made of, and BRING YOUR “A” GAME! I’ve since been conacted by a few others, and have also signed onto rosters at a few productions houses as well, which all simply means that I’ll be seeing more and more opportunities come my way!
Still plenty of work to be done! I can’t rest or celebrate much now. I still have 9 of the Top 10 markets in the US with vacancies, so time for me to get back to work, and put my name on those cities! You have to be relentless in this game, and that fits me PERFECTLY!
